We will be returning to the Holiday Inn Arena in the heart of downtown Binghamton for this year’s Convention headquarters. Many of you, I’m sure, have fond memories of past events at the Holiday Inn Arena, and we are working with the hotel staff to exceed your expectations again this year!

The Holiday Inn Arena offers newly renovated guest rooms, a full-service restaurant and lounge, a beautiful heated indoor pool & sauna, high-speed internet access, and of course, comfortable meeting spaces to ensure the success of our weekend’s business sessions. It is within walking distance to many of the shops and restaurants in downtown Binghamton, and just a short drive to St. Michael’s Church.

The Holiday Inn Arena is charging a special rate of $94.00 per night, regardless of occupancy. Only bookings made directly through our Chapter will enable you to receive this special rate in addition to an exemption from state and local occupancy tax. You MUST provide a major credit card number to hold your room; however, you may pay with cash or Travelers Checks at check-in.

A golf outing has been organized for Friday morning, September 4th. The golf outing will be held at the scenic Traditions at the Glen Golf course in Johnson City, NY. Sign up now—your $65.00 registration fee includes all greens fees, golf carts and lunch!

Senior meal packages for this year’s event are affordably priced at $85.00, and include four meals. Junior packages are priced at $75.00, and a special Youth package for children seven and under is available for a cost of $35.00.

Purchase the entire package, and take advantage of Saturday morning’s breakfast at the Holiday Inn, complete with made-to-order omelets. Join us Saturday night for a mouth-watering barbecue. Then, gather your friends to compete for prizes in our Team Trivia & DJ Party. We have a range of questions selected—so everyone will get to be the “expert” at some point during the evening!

Of course, we will serve our famous brunch at St. Michael’s following the Sunday Divine Liturgy. The Holiday Inn Arena is ready to serve you during the Sunday Grand Banquet, while you relax and enjoy fellowship and dancing to the music of a favorite local band, Splash.

Further information about hotel reservations, meal packages, golfing and booklet ads is included with your convention packet. Please share this information with everyone in your parish! All forms, along with checks payable to“A.C.R.Y. Convention,” should be returned, postmarked no later than Monday, August 10th, 2009.

The ACRY is the national youth organization of the American Carpatho-Russian Diocese of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. It is divided into two separate organizations. The Junior ACRY (for ages 8 to 18) and the Senior ACRY (for ages 18 and older).

In 1938, A diocesan youth organization, called "The Sons and Daughters of the Eastern Church", established. It was later named the "A.C.R.Y. - American Carpatho-Russian Youth." A supplement magazine of the organization began publication, with Very Rev. Joseph Mihaly, editor. Learn more.
