History

1938

A diocesan youth organization, called "The Sons and Daughters of the Eastern Church", established. It was later named the "A.C.R.Y. - American Carpatho-Russian Youth." A supplement magazine of the organization began publication, with Very Rev. Joseph Mihaly, editor.

1939

The First National Convention of the A.C.R.Y. convened in Johnstown, PA, October 6-8, attracting young people from parishes across the country. Church services, lectures, business and social events were on the agenda.



1947

Following the end of World War 11, a reorganization Convention of the A.C.R.Y. took place August 29-30 in Pittsburgh.

1949

The first issue of "The A.C.R.Y. Annual" published, with Very Rev. John Yurcisin as editor. It has appeared every year since.

1950

The first "A.C.R.Y. Day" for the benefit of the Seminary was sponsored by the Homestead Chapter July 30.
